I’ve been paid my car insurance excess twice

Someone bumped into the back of me last September, so on my insurances recommendation I paid my own excess of £345 to have my car repaired a week after the accident, which they said would speed up the claim.
I then received a cheque from the 3rd parties insurance for the £345 in November, while they were still dealing with my personal injury & child seat claim.
Then in December I received another cheque from them via my solicitors for £1837.99, which after a telephone call is £1400 wiplash, £92.99 carseat, £345 excess reimbursement.
I cashed the cheque and then expected them to contact me to say they’d overpaid and to send them the £345 back, however that was 6 weeks ago and I’ve still not heard anything, will they contact me to ask for it back? How long will it take them to noticed they’ve paid me it twice?
Thanks

They probably will never ask for it back unless your case is randomly pulled for audit. They do however have 6 years to attempt a recovery of the money and so you need to ensure you do have the money to repay it should you be asked to.
Stick it in a savings account and dont touch it0 -
^^ great advice, just don't spend it if they ever do come asking.Thinking critically since 1996....0

why not be honest and tell themDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
