I should think you are talking about the Hillside Animal Sanctuary undercover filming. I am a supporter of their work but I cant watch the film, I know I wont be able to sleep.

As well as signing the petition (Id signed one last year for Animal Aid too), please if you can, make donations to Hillside Animal Sanctuary - they have to see and do terrible things to get these undercover exposes - horrific for the people taking part.

Hillside Animal Sanctuary do a fantastic job and you can visit their two centres with rescued animals - they are huge farms in the Norfolk country where the lucky animals live in peace for their lives. Wendy Valentine is amazing and I really dont know how she or the helpers do the work they do (they are all vegans by the way).

I also haven't watched the film but I have signed the petition. I was a vegetarian for many years until my will power let me down, but will start making steps towards it again :(

Why was only the salughterman sacked. The companies health inspectors should have been sacked as well, as they should have known what was going on, its there jobs.

I found this on Hillside's website and have signed.

We call upon the Food Standards Agency to fully review the footage taken at the Red Lion Abattoir by Hillside Animal Sanctuary, with a view to prosecuting those responsible for breaches of the Welfare of Animals (Slaughter or Killing) Regulations of 1995

Yes, I've signed that petition too, and also e-mailed friends. The still photos are bad.
No, I'm not vegetarian but all creatures are entitled to quality of life and a humane end. Clearly nothing humane in the film.

Haters are gonna hate - you're not obliged to participate
  • I am a supporter of Hillside Sanctuary who investigated the cruelty and know alot of time was put into capturing this to highlight to the public what goes on behind closed doors. I watched the footage on Sky News on Saturday and could have cried. Poor, poor horses.

I signed the petition and hope that something comes from it. I don't think just sacking the slaughtermen is enough. :(
