old sky box

hi all. i currently use a non subcription old sky box to get freesat. perfectly happy as it's a no cost service. last night my old box broke,flashing red on/off light. so i have replaced it with a old spare box from upstairs. strange thing is i'm now gettng local news from the north west? and i'm a central tv viewer living just outside of coventry. does anybody know how to reset?

Hi,

good, though as I said I'm not sure if it will stay as your default channel.

You could try switching tv/box off for a few minutes to see what you get.

If you still get North West, then to get Central you will need to press Services, then 7, bit of a nuisance.

Has either of the boxes got a viewing card? As its these that regionalise the box.

Yes, whoever had the viewing card originally was obviously in the Granada area.

no it's my viewing card? originaly registerd in the central region.
try adding other channel as mentioned above but still getting n/w regional news
