Online Estate Agents?

Hello,
We are looking at selling our house and after being told the estate agent fees will come to between £3000 - £4000, we looked at the possibility of selling ourselves.
In my opinion, most people look online for houses anyway, so having an estate agent with a shop front, wont have as great effect on the selling of a house as it used to.
So we searched online and have come across a website called House Simple. They advertise on Right Move so you are listed on one of the most popular places, and seem to do almost everything an estate agent does.. They only cost about £500.
But we are still a bit nervous/apprehensive about it.
Has anyone dealt with them before and can you offer advice?
Much appreciated.
Steph

Most, if not all, of the high-street agents have their own websites, and advertise on portals like Rightmove, so anyone looking online will see both online agents' properties as well as high-street agents' properties.
It might not have 'as great' an effect, but in the current market, shouldn't you be considering an agent who uses every avenue to sell your house, rather than a one-trick pony?0 -
Ultimately you do get what you pay for?
£500 quid for an advert and some photos is actually quite a bit of money.
£3000-£4000 on paper sounds a lot of money, but could also be more beneficial depending on whats on offer.
Not going to do a list to compare as this subject has been done to death.
All I think is you get what you pay for, and that goes for anyservice/product.0 -
There are many threads on here describing people's experiences with online agents. Just do a search for "housenetwork" or "online agents".
I have just sold my own property through an online agent and for me it was great. Saved me a packet.0
