I have odd sized windows and cannot buy the correct sized blinds as standard
does anybody know of any reasonably priced ones?
my measurements are 200cm wide x 160 drop
the biggest the shops do are 180 wide
many thanks

also at Ikea you can buy a small device for about £3 for cutting down the width of the blind. so if you the right length you can cut the width to suitbye hoo0

There's a chap on Ebay who sells blinds - he'll do any size and several different combinations of price - I know there was one that was any 3 blinds for £84. We have a huge bay window and I haven't been able to get blinds to fit and I was going to give this guy a try (he'll even send you a fabric swatch before you buy). Even Ikea blinds won't fit our windows.
Anyway, can't remember what his name is on Ebay, but if you do a search for blinds you should find him - if not, PM me and I'll look him up for you (I'm at work at the mo and Ebay is blocked).

does anyone have a venetian blind here.. i'm just putting one up, its only a cheap pvc aluminum effect from b & q. i've put up the brackets, shortened the slats 2cm off each end, and sawn the top and bottom bar off to width.
i then held it up and a few slats were bent or twisted and it needed shortening anyway so instead of just removing the bottom slats i didnt need, i've been removing the damaged ones and replacing with good ones lower down.
all i need to know (i didnt look before pulling the cord out) is: does the pull cord (3 of them , one each side one in the middle), feed through the base of the ladder slats? i wondered why the ladder slats have 2 thin cords under each slat? or does the pull cord just run along side but not through these strings? if anyone can advise much appreciated, hope i make sense.0 -
Sorted it, important thing was to weave the pull cord through the ladder. IE to the left of the ladder rung, then through the slat, then right of the rung, slat, left, slat, right, and so on. Blind fitted now, its taken half a day but quite satisfying.0
