EBuyer returns

Has anyone else had difficulties in dealing with Ebuyer and faulty kit?

I bought a steam mop from them 11 months ago and the handles snapped off while I was cleaning up after Christmas.

I've tried ringing them and leaving messages for them to ring back but nothing at all has happened. All I get is some canned music and a message telling me that all their customer services reps are busy, which gives the impression that lots of people are unhappy with their goods - not a good piece of PR.

Not quite sure what to do now - post the wretched thing back to them anyway, keep ringing like a sad sack or just chuck the wretched thing.

Use email and arrange a RMA through your account, these companies are poory manned and dont like talking to people because it mainly involves shouting.

Thanks Bris - I did have an RMA and I did look for a way of sending email but couldn't find it - Duh! -so returned to the phone and just hung on there for 10 minutes.

I finally got a human, a very pleasant lad who apologised for the delay, said staffing problems were compounded by the bad weather and low staff turnout and that he'd arrange for the broken steam mop to be picked up. :j

Sounds as if you're right - very few staff at the call centre and a lot of customers who are quite upset by the time they get dealt with. It's a pity because I have dealt with them for years and this is the only time I've had a problem.
