Can I get Triangular Shaped Double Glazing For Dormer?

Hi All,

I have a dormer window in an attic room which is all glazed in wood and standard glass. I'd like to overhaul this with double glazing while maintaining the maximum light in the room - at the moment it has the flat front window and also triangular shaped glass at the sides that are at 90 degrees to the front window and join it to the sloping roof.

I notice that in most of the other houses in the street that these sections have been replaced with plastic or wood, so I assume it is not possible to get awkward shapes like this double glazed. Is it possible and does it cost a fortune?

Many thanks,
Mr O

It would probably pay you try a local independent for advice. They are often much more able and willing to do smaller installations that are non standard.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • yes they can be done but you could get units going quickly if the drainage on frames isnt done right .cladding the sides like your neighbours have done is obviously the cheaper option
if you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction
