Can I repoen my Barclaycard account?

Hello all.
I closed my Barclaycard account in the early part of last year so I wouldn't spend anymore on it and have just been paying it off by direct debit ever since. Never missed a payment or gone over my limit so just want to know if I can reopen the account and use the card again?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

    I would not think so until you have paid off the existing debt?
    Why do you need another Barclaycard - won't any other credit card do?

    Almost certainly opted out of an interest rate increase.

    If I'm right, the answer to the OP's question is almost certainly no. However, the letter they sent at the time will clearly explain things.

    Hello again. Yes I think that's right Yorkshireboy from what I can remember. Just thought it would be easier through Barclaycard as I have tried to apply to others before then but no joy.

    Yes you can reopen it.

    Obviously depends on your standing with them but i have just reopened mines.

    I previously closed due to interest rate hike but negotiated it and reopened via secure message on mybarclaycard
