After reading lots of other people's diaries I haev now formulated a new plan. Taking into account what I think (hope?) it will cost to do the extension we want then my aim is now to be MF by the end of 2025. This will be 6 years off our original 20 year term and if we can manage that despite having drawn money back to do the work on the house then I'll be really pleased.Mortgage 1 Oct 11 - £118k @ 1.29%(BR+0.79) July 14 £118k

Jumped aboard the Amex/Foursquare offers this weekend, bought 2 x £50 House of Fraser gift cards with £25 back on each, used these to top up our new crockery set (all of which was either 50% off or 3 for 2). Added to that 2 x £25 ITunes cards from Carphone Warehouse, each with £10 back. Plus 2 x £50 Gap gift cards, again with £25 off each - these should come in handy in the next week or so as Mrs JB is due to give birth to our second future-MSE any time now, so we may need/have/want to splash out on some new baby clothes (especially if it's a blue one!!!).
Still got the Shell offer (£15 back on £50 fuel spend) to redeem once more (already done on Mrs JB's card), and maybe a Pizza Hut gift card too (£15 back on £30).
Loving the Snap n Save app on TopCashBack at the moment too, money off supermarket spends of everyday items just for scanning receipts in - have even had cashback on apples and bananas!Mortgage 1 Oct 11 - £118k @ 1.29%(BR+0.79) July 14 £118k

Hooray, we have reached the 8th March...and I have managed to resist the half price Sky Sports & Movies for 6 months offer that was dangled before me. It would have been minimal cost after cashback from TCB but there's always the temptation to keep it in the subscription longer than the offer period, and at £29/month full price............
Also, it's payday today :-)Mortgage 1 Oct 11 - £118k @ 1.29%(BR+0.79) July 14 £118k

Hello jimmybrid
I've just read your diary - well done on all the discounts!
So did you and Mrs JB have a blue one or another pink one?!

MWC,
That's rather a touchy subject at the moment....apparently Mrs JB has such a nice, warm, comfy tummy that little JB doesn't want to come out. Due date was 9 days ago and still no sign of an appearance.
Hopefully it will make for an interesting weekendMortgage 1 Oct 11 - £118k @ 1.29%(BR+0.79) July 14 £118k

Today I'm thankful for:
1. Our wonderful supportive family.
2. Quiet roads in the early hours on a weekend.
3. The brilliant midwives of the NHS.
4. My AMAZING wife.
5. My beautiful BABY BOY, :male: born just before 8 yesterday morning. :T
Already sorted an investment vehicle for him - junior cash Isa with the Halifax, pays 3% normally, or 6% if you hold an Isa with Halifax yourself (got to say that was ten pounds very well spent). Looking forward to receiving the extra £13 a week in family allowance.
Just hoping now that the few traffic violations I may have committed to get to the hospital don't come back to bite me - it was only 3 red lights. And most of the speed limits.Mortgage 1 Oct 11 - £118k @ 1.29%(BR+0.79) July 14 £118k
