Nah, it's alright - Dizz would just squash him like a bug. He's nearly as big as Fred now.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

where you could obtain BOTH a rescue cat (or two) and a Pedigree! Most of these cats would have always been used to an indoor home so would be ideal for you.
You beat me to it paddypaws ... we adopted our cat, a snowshoe, from Patsy. Definitely worth contacting Rushden Persian Rescue, even if you aren't close enough to adopt direct from them, I know they have contacts with other rescues.0 -
I'm going to give a shout out for Maine coons and Savannahs!
 I have never met a breed with the personality of Savannahs they are borderline human! And total characters:T. Maine's are also big purrsonalities but very laid back and easy osie cats. Savannahs need a pal cos its difficult creating that much havoc all on your own. I have to say....after having cats all my life (all rescue til I got my present bunch) I have never come across cats like Savannahs......they have a personality all of their own! Can't praise them enough...I haven't stopped laughing since I got my boys! Good luck choosing.......I'd have one of each and every breed lol!:rotfl:If it weren't for stress I'd have no energy at all. First rule of acting: Whatever happens, look as if it were intended.;)
Don't follow in my footsteps, I walk into walls:smileyhea When in doubt .............mumble.
I may look busy, but I'm just confused.:T I smile because i have no idea what's going on.:rotfl:0 -
I hope you realise that i have a little access to the cat internet whilst Mr Hop was online.
He was reading a thread for cats entitled, "How to choose a slave""if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170 -
LazyDaisy - you're meant to be making this easier not harder! I just had a quick google and they are beautiful!.
Yep
They are vocal though. Not in the crying whiny way of siamese cats (apologies to anyone reading this who is owned by a siamese!) but in a chattering conversational way.
As an example - when someone knocks at the door, my Burmese is immediately there waiting. If it turns out to be a strange male, his lips go up, he bares his teeth, and growls (I kid you not).
On the other hand when my alarm goes off in the morning (at whatever time) he is immediately there nibbling my nose and making a strange sound between a purr and a chitter, which means 'time to get up and get breakfast' (I ignore him at my peril as the next ploy is to wrap his claws in my hair and pull...)
One thing I would say about Burmese cats though - they hate being left alone and will pine and go off their food if left for long. So if you are out of the house a lot at work, they really need another cat to keep them company.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Do you really get to choose cats? Well I never! I thought cats chose owners...
Three of ours chose us - just moved in. We tried to take one to the CPL but it kept coming back
We did choose two, from the CPL. One decided it didn't like us and moved in with a neighbour. We still paid the vet bills etc for a few years but now she won't even acknowledge us in the street. (the cat, the neighbour is far more friendly..)0 -
It is not just pedigree rescues that get pedigrees in

I have just had a lady call me needing to rehome a chocolate point siamese, in the past couple of months i have also had persians, ragdolls and british blues also!
As i rescue we have no issue with cats being kept as indoor cats so being in a flat would be no issue also!
My advice would be have a ring around local rescues and see what they have and find out what their rehoming criteria is!0 -
Is it just me who thinks keeping a cat indoor is cruel?
I'm talking from experience CPL gave us an "indoor" cat who was not supposed to go out but spent all the time looking out of the window until she had access to a garden and then spent all the time out and about hhunting, fighting and exploring like cats are meant to do.
She lived her last few years of her life as a happy cat., not in prison.
However some cats cannot go out because they are ill, or refuse to go out, or may even be facing being killed by the rescue centre because they cannot be rehomed for some reason, if i lived in a place without access to a garden i would go for one of these, a loving home is what they need

OK i have 2 ragdolls.
if you want a cat that is easy going laid back and vocal and effectionate and clingy then a raggy is your best match.
they get on with almost any cat in the world they think everything is placed on the planet to be their friend, they are indoor only because of this temperment of everything is their friend if let out would easily wounder off with a passing stanger looking for attention to be stroked and petted.
they are not jumping cats either, so dont go climbing, they prefure to be on 4 paws on the ground, although a sturdy climbing frame will be used reguarly.
if a pair from the same litter is bought they will cuddle together play together and genrally keep eachother occupied, intruducing different cats will end well but will take time to get used to eachother different breeds like berman or persian like to be the boss where the ragdoll likes to share so they maybe a conflict of interests now and then.
bermans like to escape, they make it their game, because they are so inquisetive and like a challenge, humphry a neighbours cat would try his luck at every given chance but he was a huge handsome boy and little quirks made him all the more lovable.
if you torn i would get one of each persian and ragdoll or persian bermise etc.0
