Anyone Used Meyer Circulon Lifetime Warranty?

Hi, I have a Circulon set of pans I bought from Debs about 5 years ago and have always looked after them (used wooden utensils and handwashed them) but the non-stick has come off all of them on the inside bottom and around the sides.

I was just wondering if anyone had had any joy returning them? I looked on the website but in the small print it said it did not cover misuse and also discolouration was not covered, which I have a feeling is the card they are going to play :(

Also, did you return them to the store or Circulon?
Many thanks

I bought mine as individual items. A mixture of analon and circulon.
I have to be honest, although they're about 18 yrs old now, the frying pan was stuffed after about 2 yrs and none of them are any better than my stainless steel ones.
The non stick isn't particularly non stick and they all have a dull surface.
Like you, I thought they will worm out of any warranty claim and read online that they indeed rarely admit to any faulty products.
I foolishly spent £70 on the frying pan in 1996 and so there is no way I would mistreat it or any of the others but they insist that's what I've done.
They are peeling and have chips in the surface and although still look good and still quite serviceable I would never spend so much again.
    Non stick my ar*e!
You have been reading.....another magnificent post by garethgas
  • It doesn't seem right that Circulon do not honour their warranty as I assume most people justify the high cost on the fact the pans will last them a lifetime (25 years, I believe).

Hi - some of my pans, bought in 2007, started to peel almost immediately. 3 were replaced by BHS in 2011. Now some of the others are going the same way. I'll contact BHS again and Circulon tomorrow. I'll pist how I ger on.

    :rotfl:"I'll post how I get on" ?

I had some Meyer and the finish degraded, on one frying pan it went quickly. It gets covered in a dark film that does not wash off. I think you need to keep the receipt for the warranty, and how many of us do that for pans?

I now have some Tefal Jamie Oliver pans. Now before you all start pointing at me, and laughing out loud, they were reduced by a significant amount, and that tempted me to risk the humiliation of owning something branded by JO. But seriously, the sale meant I was not paying for the name, and the Tefal pans do seem very good, perhaps the finish is better? I don't like non stick, but I cannot see an alternative for porridge, and sweating down veg. Stainless steel can be a nightmare to clean.

I wonder what the pros use?

Has anyone tried the expensive German or Swiss pans made from some exotic dark material, claimed to be non stick? I forget the brand name.

I had some Tesco own brand non-stick pans for years. They were still going strong with no chipping or peeling when I had to change them because I got an induction hob and they weren't compatible.

As for porridge, use the microwave if you've got one.
  • My circulon are 22 yrs old, they look nothing like new, but are still my fave to use, I bung them in the dishwasher now, as the finish no longer matters.
PS the fry pan has long been replaced though.

I had circulons for years to. They led a pretty hard life and the non stick didn't last a very long time but they were good to use. DS1 took them all to university this year for use in the house he is sharing. That was my excuse to buy a complete set new pans.;). Not Circulon this time but Le Creuset Non Stick. I like them so far.
