True but nobody really bothers about that because unlike the plethora of benefits available where you just have to apply online and get lots of money just sent to the bank account no questions asked, in the case of CM you have to call up the ex and ask him for money and get a lot of verbal abuse and threats and then you have to g to CSA etc etc.
Which makes it all a bit sad really because the parents should assume responsibility for their children and contribute for the child in every possible way
Actually not all fathers are like that. Some are, but not all of them. When I was separated, my husband discussed money with me in a more or less reasonable sort of way, and then paid what we'd agreed, on time, every month. (Until he died, that is, but that's hardly his fault.)Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

OP is on JSA not IS. She will have to go to the job centre and be expected to look for a job like all others. Might not be as stressful as fighting a reluctant nrp to pay, but still not a case of just checking your bank statement for payments made.0

What about fathers who have done a runner and are uncontactable? And what about women who are too damn well scared of the ex to be asking him directly for maintenance?0 -
Hello, I was just wondering if anyone can help.
I am a single mum with a 5yr girl. I am on jobseekers, tax credits and housing benefit while I sort myself out after my marriage ended. Is there anything I should be claiming.
I found out yesterday that I'm able to claim for help with school uniform. Now I'm wondering if there is anything else I've missed.
Please don't think bad of me, this is temp, till I find a job and home.
Thank you for reading
Contact your local job centre and ask for an appointment to see your Lone Parent Adviser. They will help you with interviews, applications, can advise how on what your household income will be if you take a job at £x.xx an hour etc. They can also point you in the direction of courses you can take in school hours to brush up your skills - I got sent on a 5 day SAGE accounting course, travel expenses all paid.
I also got a £300 grant when I did get a job. They also ensured I got a 4 week run on of benefits to cover the transitional period.

I claimed free school meals through my local council. They asked originally for proof of Income support ( I would expect JSA in your case) but I then signed a form so they cold contact the DWP directly.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0
