"classic" car petition (sorry!).

I spotted this on another forum. I run a 17 year old car as my transport and believe that this is environmentally sound. It's fully road legal and fuel efficient.

I do worry that some incorrect "all old cars are polluting and dangerous" mentality plus a motor industry who'd look for any reason to sell more new models might collude to some sort of silly law.

Please don't complain about yet more petitions.

What about banning extravagent new cars like Ferraris, Lambos, RR, Bentleys, Porsches? Why not a petition to ban them as they can be "dangerous & polluting".

Oh, wait its because big business men and rich folk own these kind of cars, and we wouldn't want to ruffle their feathers would we now? (donations, no more flash party invites, no more free holidays in villas, board of director jobs upon retirement...)

The majority of people this is going to affect (as usual) are the poor who can't afford to buy new cars but CRUCIALLY can afford to run their old cars.

TBH I don't know how seriously to take the original threat, but know that the car industry would love to have a way to eradicate old cars so that they could keep selling new ones, along with some sort of spin campaign.
