DLA and going back to work

Can a disabled person still get DLA if they go back to work,If so does anyone know what are the conditions for to keep there DLA,if they inform DLA that they are going back to work does there money stop straight away

    Yes, you can work, with DLA.
    Yes, you need to notify them.
    If your award is inconsistent with work, questions will likely be raised, which may lead to the award being terminated.
    For example, if you claim you are unable to walk due to pain, and get a job where you are on your feet all day.
    DLA if it stops would stop from the day you reported your change of circumstances happened, usually. (you may be paid arrears for the next two weeks)

    Get help when you go back to work using the government's 'Access to Work' scheme, with their help you'll get items that might help keep you in work such as a adjustable chair etc.

    They helped me get the reasonable adjustments needed for me to do my job comfortably.

  • Hi...newbie here so apologies if i get this wrong but from our experience....my husband applied for and was awarded the higher rate of mobility and lower rate carers DLA while he was working...he works 15 hours a week but this is because he isn't able to work more, as far as I know it isn't means tested but based on your disability therefore not affected by work
