Home insurance - how do I prove no claims?

Hello!

I'm looking for new home insurance, and the comparison sites keep asking how many years of no claims I've had. I've had home insurance for two years with two different companies (one at a time) and never had to claim.

The thing is, how do I prove that? Presumably if I ever come to claim, they'll ask for proof of my no-claims. Do I just give them the reference number and they chase it up with the previous insurers, or am I supposed to get a certificate at the end of each contract?

Thanks for your help :)

Andrew

Not every insurer has NCB on home insurance.

Does your renewal notice say anything about NCB applying? Or does it say anything about no claims having been made?

Hi , generally you don't have to prove it when buying home insurance, just tell the truth.

If you ever put in a claim they will probably search the insurance database to verify your declaration.

If you lie they won't pay out.
