Fit more clothing into a carry on

So I saw this youtube video claiming to show how to "pack for 2 months" in a carry on and I was sceptical but after trying it everyone should know this method.

This "bundling" method really allows you to fit much more and is a great tip for packing anything!

I managed to get 3 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of trousers, 2 shorts, 3 hoodies, 15-20 T-shirts, 7 pairs of underwear and 7 pairs of socks.

And there was STILL plenty of room for extras (Shoes and bras etc)

Yes toiletries will still have to be checked if flying but you could always buy at your destination or cut out a case 1 checked for 2 people etc.

Seriously you have to try this!

Looks good. I might try it, as usually I use a large hold all but am trying to cut back to a normal suitcase.

I find my bag is usually full of bits & pieces rather than clothes. I travel very light anyway about 8-9kg if at all possible regardless of how many months away. Mrs Bob the Saver does the same - we have a rule that she must be able to carry her own bag, that sorts it. We don't go to too many cold places though although I did New York in a very cold spring with just a laptop bag for luggage.

that is like magic.

we are not going anywhere for 2 months and then will have 2x checked bags each allowance...but there is part of me that wants to go upstairs right now and pull out a 22" case and try this with a random selection of clothes because part of me is convinced it cannot be possible.

M-m-m-m I shall try that in a few months. Husband's very keen, but I can easily do 10-12kg & my case weighs 5kg.

mobile phone charger
tablet charger
battery charger

and all the other stuff we need, especiall if you fly easyjet/ryanair, as with the new 100 ml rules

so unless you want to take just clothes on a 10kg hand luggage only holiday this is good.

i think you'd put them in the bottom of the case, before you start folding the clothes into the bundle on the top.

But then again, you'd have to leave your clear bag of permitted toiletries/liquid make-up etc to go in the case last, as you have to take it out of the case at security.

Actually, I'd have to try it with the shoes and electrical stuff on the bottom, clothes bundle, then my liquids and handbag in the top.

Some airlines are getting tight on the second piece carry ons, hand bags and laptop bags.

I had to juggle on Virgin back from the states

it is easy if you pack tight to go over 10kg.
