Hi
Ive never sold on ebay before until today and want to flog a campervan.
Ive taken a photo of the camper on my phone and sent the pic to my email.
The prob is that Ebay doesnt like the file tipe of the pic Im attempting to attach. My pic ends .jpg but ebay says its got to be something else.
Assistance please?
Thanks

Have you opened the pic on your pc first, I would save the pic to your pc and then upload it to ebay.0

I've never had a problem using jpgs - must be some other problem. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Is it posible that there's a space after the .jpg bit or something whih is causing it to fail to recognise the file type?
If you're selling something like a camper van which would benefit from extra photos, it's also worth uploading them to a free hosting service (I use Photobucket) and using Turbo Lister or Auctiva to make your listing, then you can add extra photos without paying extra.0 -

You will need to host your pictures on photobucket or any photo hosting site and the it would help if you loaded your listing via Frontpage or with basic html. to be honest for a one off would just pay the money, it it quite time consuming until you have a good working template.
as for the OP, one photo? You really need a lot more to get folk interested. Borrow a decent camera and take loads of pics and the choose half a dozen or so that show it its best and worst points.0 -

It's extremely simple, and I often wonder why people continually pay the 12p per photo charge when its easy to avoid it!
1. Take your photo!
2. Go to http://imageshack.us
3. Click on the Browse button and find the image file on your harddrive.
4. You do NOT need to enter your email address to use imageshack!
5. Tick the resize image box to get imageshak to resize your photo when it uploads it. Choose something sensible (640x480 is good for a full page ebay ad I would say).
6. Click 'Host it!' and wait a second or two.
7. Scroll to the very bottom of the page it brings up, and copy the last URL - the "Direct link to image". It will be something along the lines of "http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/6204/myphoto.jpg"
8. In your ebay auction, use a small piece of HTML code to show this image in the main body of the advert. The HTML that will show the image is:
<IMG SRC="http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/6204/myphoto.jpg">
9. To learn more about HTML to allow you to do more with this image, google it!Don't pay off your student loan quicker than you have to.0 -

Also watch the picture's file size. I switch my camera right down to 1 megapixel for eBay pictures, and they are OK. If I have to wait for a picture to download, I move on to the next auction. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0
