How Long For Speeding Fine??

How long should i have to wait for a speeding fine??Caught by fixed gatso camera 2am in the morning doing approx 45mphin 40mpgh zone on an empty dual carriageway about a month ago now.Heard somewhere they have 28 days to send you the fine or it is invaild - is this true??

    they have 14 days to issue a Notification of Intended Prosecution

    An indicated 45 is probably a real 42 or 43 mph.

    The trigger would be at least 46 (guideline is 10%+2)
    So you are probably in the clear :)

    If it's your own car, and registered correctly, then they have 14 days. If it's a company car or newly registered then there could be a delay (though doubt that is the case here)

    All car speedometers over-record to varying degrees. I've just fitted a trip computer, and mine is 6 mph over (ie. 20/30/40/50 mph on the dial, 14/24/34/44 mph on the display). Both use the same electrical speed pulse, BTW.
    The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

    They have 14 days but 45 wouldnt get you anyway. its usally 10% of the speed limit plus 3, so 36 in a 30 47 in a 40 and so on.
    I got done doing 37 in a 30 but the camera was about 2 meters from the sign where it changes from a 50 to a 30 zone! I was braking at the time lol
