Gooooooooood question0 -
A laptop is a portable computer that is reasonably small enough to be used on your lap.
A notebook is an even smaller portable computer that has a smaller footprint than a laptop. Typically a notebook is small enough to fit inside a briefcase. They are (were) around the size of an A4 pad, hence the term notebook.
Nowadays, the terms are used fairly interchangeably. It depends who makes them and what the manufacturer calls them.0 -
Notebooks are the 'safe' name for Laptops.
Manufacturers did it so as not to suggest you use the computer on your lap, as the heat can cause side effects.0
