ear plugs and sleep with him more often, you will get used to it.
  • I think it is a bit soon to be putting this to him, after only a couple of months, but that's just my opinion. There is some kind of surgical procedure that can totally stop the snoring but I'm afraid I only saw something briefly on tv but maybe a gp would be able to help. I'd google it for you but have to get off now. Good luck with it.

Like others have said plenty of slim people snore, so getting him to lose weight may not even make any difference.
You say you have just started seeing him? Well just get him to go home and not stay the night, end of problem. You can do what you want to do with him during the evening.
You shouldnt have to put up with snoring, so just get him staying at his own house. Better still look for someone who doesnt snore and save yourself the hassell now.

Make sure he only has one pillow.

My husband isn't overweight and he snores if he's had a couple of drinks or if his pillow is too high. An elbow in the ribs normally stops him.

Another wife of a snorer... hubby is 'normal' weight. His underweight dad snores like a tractor too!

Only solution is earplugs and/or white noise I'm afraid...

We have the radio on to get off to sleep - and if I'm woken I find concentrating on finding it 'reassuring' 'he's there' focusing on good feelings rather than getting crosser and crosser makes me more likely to go to sleep.

I'm also fairly deaf in one ear, so sleep on the 'good side' :)

But really, if that's his problem you have to put up with it...

As he's interested in losing weight himself then I think you should try and do all you can to support him but don't nag or push him if he's not really interested. Personally I think it sounds as if his general health would be improved by losing weight not that it's any of my business.

Well down the line if you ever move in together that's when you can really influence how he eats.

In the meantime, try the sharp elbow!

    ...

I do exactly the same but unfortunately if I sleep on my 'good' side then I can't hear the radio properly.:rotfl:

I find pushing the back of his head forward helps plus the aforementioned sharp elbow!

    Dump him!!

(I'm a really light sleeper, so can't stand snoring. My OH snores when he's had too many pints, so either has to sleep on the sofa, or gets slapped iof he lies on his back and starts snoring!).

Or get him to sleep on his front, or wear some nose strips!

Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
