Info for a friend please. She and her husband have agreed finances and are going to pay a solicitor to draw up the legal document for their clean break on divorce. She wants to submit it to the court herself. Which forms go in with it. She knows about the Statement of info form but is there another one to go with it as well.

Best to advise your friend to post her question on Wikivorce, with more detail.0 -
When I divorced one solicitor acted for her and I had a free half an hour or so with one. When the papers went through to the court the judge sent them back saying he/she needed to be convinced that I was aware of my rights and that I had sought advice or had waived my right to this advice and representation. I drafted a letter to the solicitor acting for my wife saying I was aware of my entitlements and had had the fee half an hour and was happy with the paperwork regarding the division of assets and income and I was happy for them to submit the letter as proof of my agreement.
That seemed to do the trick.
One other thing; when I went for my free half hour consultation I had everything written down as far as the outline facts were concerned e.g. name address (me and ex) DOB date of marriage location of marrigae number and name of children etc details of the solicitor acting for the other party. I had a copy for me and a copy for them, it saved watching them write stuff down and left more time for discussion.0 -
