Whats the best bank account for Paypal?

You can not delete your primary funding source, you have to add another funding source first. Same goes with your bank account, once you have one, the only way of deleting it is to close your account.
If you just want it for a single transaction, check out as a guest. It will be easier than going through the Paypal identification system.0 -
According to paypal you can delete you card details, in their help files.0

Once a bank account is linked, it will be the default for all payments. You can change it when you make a payment, but you can't set a CC to the default payment method once you have a linked bank account.
This used to be the case for me and I had to change the funding source on every purchase. Forgot to do it a few times and ending up missing out on cc cashback.
However, recently, it's been defaulting to my credit card. Bank account is still in there and confirmed. Strange...but just the way I want it.0 -
I keep a CC linked to paypal, and add a bank account every time I need to withdraw funds (from ebay selling). After my money arrives from paypal, I delete the bank account from paypal, and close the bank account. (I had a lot of old e-savers etc. which needed to be closed anyway.)
When I ran out of savings accounts I started using spare current accounts. I then realised that the verification process earned me about 30p each time as paypal would make some deposits and ask me how much they were. So I kept deleting and adding the bank accounts every few weeks or so, and made a few pounds. Also I frequently close and reopen my paypal account if I don't intend to buy or sell anything for a month.
It seems like paypal has cottoned on to this as they now deposit 1p only and ask you to confirm the reference number. On the bright side, they have finally moved into 2012 as withdrawals now go by faster payments.0 -
Hmm, I've been using Paypal for 10+ years and never had problems with their service really - I'm a frequent buyer and seller on Ebay, and Paypal is absolutely eseential for that. I'm sure there have been disputes and issues in the past, but pretty surprised to hear so much angst against their service... what's the main source of these problems? I've never had a charge I didn't ask for/expect in all those years, and they have been helpful enough with getting refunds, etc.
Someone mentioned you cannt get S75 protection for transactions on Paypal - is this true and how could it be true? There is still a link between every paypal transaction and the original seller - in fact the charge on your credit card shows up as something specific to that seller, not just a generic "Paypal charge". I ask because I currently have an Ebay case pending where a seller has not given me my refund for an item I arranged a return for and sent back - and so Ebay has suggested I go through the credit card and just have the charge reversed, presumably this is a S75 thing? I've not really had this problem in the past, so not sure how to go about it, but will attempt it today. The Ebay representative talked about it as if this was quite a normal thing for Ebay/Paypal users to do, so I'm surprised to hear someone saying there is no S75 protection...unless that's a separate thing?0 -

You can do a chargeback, not a section 75 as Paypal acts as a middleman.0 -

S75 relates to breach of contract and misrepresentation.
When a payment goes through a 3rd party money movement co such as paypal. This cannot be proved. As they have done as requested, which is move the money. NOT supply the goods.
Paypal have their own disputes process.
What Ebay are refering to here is a chargeback. But unless the item you sent back was faulty and you have proof that the retailer has recieved it.
Then there is no chargeback avaiable.
If it was a simple change of mind, then there is no chargeback right.
You would have to take that up under DSR and take them to court.
DSR will only apply if it is a retailer and not just someone selling on ebay.
People think that going through paypal etc is safer and gives better cover.
In fact the reverse is true.
Look here
Notice how Amazom proclaim....
REDUCED CHARGEBACKS
What that really means is as your payment goes through Amazon, rather than direct to the merchant.
Amazon can block any chargebacks, by simply saying we did as requested and moved the moeny.... not supply the goods.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

Dear Forum ,
Because of qualms about Paypal I linked my account to a Halifax Easycash account which allows no overdraft , so before any Paypal purchase I online transfer to the Easycash account from another account just enough to cover the purchase and there are therefore no payments possible other than ones I've just sanctioned .0 -

But could stll mean a bounced DD.....
Just because a account has a zero limit, does not stop them from attempting to take payment.
You have to be carefull. If Halifax are like the co-op after so many DD attempting to take unavaiable funds its a auto clousure.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
