DELL memory card reader problem

Hi everyone,
I have a DELL 5150 with a TEAC memory card reader. Just had a strange experience with it.
It reads SD, XD , smartmedia cards with no problems but if I put a MMC card in (which it is supposed to read) the device crashes giving a USB device failed to install warning.
Then I cant see the device in device manager (even after reboot). The only way to make the device reappear is to disconnect it from the motherboard, reconnect and reboot.
If I use the MMC card it crashes again yet if I use any of the others - no problems!
Does anyone know what is going on? and does anyone know an easier way to make the hardware reappear?
I know the easy way is to avoid MMC cards but I dont like to be beaten!
Thanks for your time everybody.

It seems that this is a driver problem with media card readers. I have checked Dell Support and there are many others with the same problem and i dont think there is a solution as of yet. Hope that helps

Excellent find thanks millionaire. I didnt know that webforum existed. I just worked through the fixes (!) on the euro dell site.
Feel much better that its not just me.0
