Home phone with bill cap?

Just wondering if such a product exists. A friend has their t-mobile bill capped to guard against overspending and making chargeable calls, are there any landline providers who have such a feature?

Lots of phone companies give unlimited calls 24/7 (national and 0845), but not including other premium rate callls, for around £5.

Absolutely not! For the simple reason (whether we like it or not) an INCOMING call can be billed to your telephone number - 0800 Reverse is a good example of this.

The line renter will always be held liable for usage - even if premium rate call barring has been activated!

I didn't know that, thanks. Though I would have thought that those incoming calls could be blocked.

I was just curious if there was a way (other than having no phone plugged in) to guard against unexpected bills.

BT offer a chargeable call feature that enables you to block certain outgoing calls.

There used to be a device called the Commtel Internet and Phone Guard to restrict outgoing numbers, but its not available to buy anymore.
