You can always set up payments manually for the dates you want, so you avoid Bank Holidays.

No they do not.
Many banks do NOT allow you to set up "online standing orders" with "4-Weekly" payment frequency, hence the question to find out for certain which ones do. HSBC was one of them the last time I checked that didn't. Norwich & Peterborough BS is another that doesn't. N&P only offer frequencies for weekly, monthly and yearly. HSBC had one or two more last time I checked but no "4-Weekly" option.0 -
It's all automated. I doubt there is even any employee that sees what you have set up?
I think he means more work to do to set up the type, if there system even allows it.
Setting up a monthly one on the same date each month would be rather easy I would imagine compared to having to calculate 28 days from now to find out each months date.0 -

For a computer, adding 28 to a date is rather simple. No reason at all why they shouldn't permit it.0 -

Not difficult at all, it's simply setting up a SO for a particular day of the week and then having a counter that says only action it every 4th week. Any bank that doesn't have that as an option is just being lazy with their systems (I'll exempt smaller Building Societies as they may not have the resources to include all the bells and whistles).0 -

Hello.
Can anyone tell me which bank and building society accounts allow you to set up "online standing orders" with "4-Weekly" payment frequency?
I'm particularly interested to know if this can be done with the following accounts:
Barclays Current Account
Smile Current Account
Yorkshire Bank Current Account
Halifax Bank Current Account
Metro Bank Current Account
I have checked out Norwich & Peterborough Gold Light Currect Account but unfortunately they only allow weekly, monthly and years standing orders to be set up online. Otherwise this seems a great account especially for overseas use as they don't charge fees.
Thanks,
John
I am almost certain that HSBC do and my guess is that any of the big four should be able to provide that service. The Nationwide cannot even organise a weekly standing order so a four weekly payment would probably be too much for those clowns. All the best.Money is a wise mans religion0 -
Not on your list but natwest do0

I've been told HSBC can set up 4-weekly standing orders, but this must be done in a branch or on the telephone. It's not possible online.urs sinserly,
