Hi, DS1 wants to buy a gaming PC and was looking to spend about £700 on one.
There seemed to be a few 'reasonably' priced ones just before Christmas, refurb's at Currys and an alienware one from Dell, but these have now disappeared.
He has been looking at PC Specialist and has chosen the spec that he wants. However, I am horrifired by the thought of spending £600+ on the internet and with a company that I know nothing about.
He wants me to order it asap but I keep stalling him
Where is a good place to look for a gaming PC please.
(He has an Acer Aspire 7730ZG laptop atm but this will not play the games he wants to play)

Have you considered self-assembly?0

PC Specialist has a reasonable reputation if you look at the reviews (my brother has also had a laptop from them with no problems), and if you purchase on credit card you have further cover as ever, other ones that might be worth a look at is
cyberpower systems (i know a few people on these forums have claimed to have used them)
and dinopc (my mate has used them)Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
try overclockers.co.uk they specialize in gaming machines, both ready made and parts to assemble yourself0

https://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/ is another to consider. (I got my laptop from them a year ago).0

I bought my PC from PC Specialist back in 2005 when PC Specialist had at that point only been trading about a year.
Although it's not a gaming machine it did cost including monitor £1000. At the time you could not pay by credit card.PC prices have got a lot cheaper over the years.
My PC has had only a few upgrades and is still going strong and runs as a dual boot system of Windows XP and Linux Mint 14 Mate edition.
Pc Specialist appear to have grown massively since then and have a decent reputation.0
