Question about contribution ESA

I have been getting contribution based ESA for coming up to 5 months after loosing job and recovering from an operation. I have been sending doctors notes to DWP on a monthly basis. I have not had or been given any medical assessment.

I am just about ready to start looking for a new job preferably part-time.

I won't be entitled to income based benefits so should I voluntarily come off ESA and go onto JSA?

If I do will I have to make a new claim for JSA and would I still get contribution based JSA for another 6 months bearing in mind I have already received 5 months ESA?

Benefit system is very confusing!

You can remain on ESA until:
    - you find a job (there is nothing to stop you looking whilst on ESA), or
    - Jobcentre Plus decide you no longer qualify, or
    - you win the lottery, move to a desert island and are fed grapes by a gorgeous native!
