be aware that replacement bulbs are expensive with projectors - in this case £170

I set mine up today and I am really happy with it for the money!! The bulbs aren't cheap but should last 3000 hours (in economy mode - which is fine) so in all I think its worth it. If anyone has any questions I will do my best to answer them;)

Why do bulbs cost so much? Some are half the price of the projector (Epsom £365)

our projector has just arrived really quick service!!

hubby knows that bulbs might last, as mrme says 3000 hours. .The trick is to use it loads within the 90 days, so if it goes then its free!! i know there are expensive, but all the reviews rave about it, so even if we have to replace bulb we still will have saved loads, the one we were gonna buy was £1000!!

we have ordered screen seperately and that should arrive tommorow so after we have tried it out, will post with whats its like!!

i ruled out this projector as its brightness is only 700 lumens.

for an extra few quid (£100), you can get 1200-1500 lumens which is where you need to be really unless your in a fairly dark room when using the projecctor

I agree with harra but seeing as we're now at £486 for 1200-1500 lumens, for a few quid extra (£130) you can get a 1600 lumens one which is HDTV ready from ebuyer.

Buying a projector is not only about getting the most lumens out. Many projectors are designed for business and don't handle fast-moving images well (like movies and TV).
The Faroudja DCDi scaler chip makes a big difference as to what the picture will look like.

Replacement bulbs are always expensive for projectors, but if you have an older one then it's often the case that some retailer will get rid of them on clearance at some point over the 3000 hour lifetime. My projector's bulbs are 200 quid, but I've seen them for 50.
