Banned driver needs insurance for motorhome

My best friend lives in a motorhome but has been banned for drink driving. He needs insurance as he needs to keep his motorhome on public highway and therefore also needs the insurance so he can tax it etc. :question:Any helpful advice would be most appreciated. TVM

He will get insurance somewhere but it will cost him serious money.

How about renting a garage or a pitch at a caravan site for the duration of the ban?

If he is still banned for DD then as ts_aly2000 says, he is committing an offence. He would stand a very good chance of being caught as well if the police check the vehicle to see if it abandoned or ask for it to be moved on, the details will show up on their computer.
Can he swap it for a caravan and park up in a field?

I would not wish to appear picky but to live in a campervan and then drink and drive ????
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

I was going to suggest this too... get on someones private land and notify it as off road.

No, can't obtain insurance and can't keep it on the public highway. Also if he has the keys to the vehicle he is in charge or deemed driving. As he has already proved himself to be unfit to be left in charge of a vehicle, he should leave it parked up in a private place. He cannot be leave it in a public place
