Hi All.
My Son wants to buy himself a laptop with his birthday money and I'm looking for recommendations. He has £500 to spend but needs a copy of MS Office so say around the £400 mark for the machine. He needs it for schoolwork and a bit of gaming. What sort of processor does he need and what would be the minimum requirements for memory? Is there anything in particular we need to be looking out for or avoiding? WE need to get this right as it's a very major purchase for us (Courtesy of his Grandparents!)

Just ensure its running 64 bit windows and at least 4gb ram and he should have a decent laptop for well under £4000

goto http://www.software4students.co.uk/t/brands/microsoft-office-2010 for a copy of MS office0

depends on the gaming, graphics card wise.
an I5 4-8GB, 500GB-1TB could be had for £400 or so, if you use voucher codes and topcashback
some come with office click to run, or you could get office educational discounts as above
suggest a trip to the shops to look at some first, then look for deals on the web!!

Thank you for your time.
