 Having just had an almighty argument with my wife regarding a CC I transferred back last August and finding that there had been activity on the card.
Anyway, it has transpired that a company called Discover Discount had taken £89.95 off her card for no apparent reason whatsoever, other than she thinks she may have bought something completely different a long time prior. This amount was taken from her card in Jan '05 and has since accrued late charges for non-payment.
This company, after much investigation ont' tinternet, appears to change names on a regular basis.
Has anyone else heard of them and been ripped off. I have just discovered a website, http://www.downline.co.uk , which has a lot of stories of about individuals that have had money taken from their accounts or CCs

I would contact the CC company and do a charge back if you believe the company has fraudently taken money without your consent.

Many, many thanks for the advice, I have been on the phone today to CC company and to my surprise they have credited everything back to the account. Just goes to show how great this site is.
Many thanks once again, you have saved me a lot of money. :beer:0 -

Glad to see its all sorted. Its always best to check you CC balance and also direct debits. I found out recently that Norwich Union just took it upon themselves last Nov to renewal my car insurance whcih I paid last year by direct debit. Even though I took out a new policy the same time with them which is cheaper than the old policy (same car, details etc) and paid by debit card.
