i'm seeing quite alot at the bottom of comp posts people montly/yearly winnings. often £100's even £1000's a month! :O
i'm just wondering if there's something i'm doing wrong. i can spend up to 9 hours, 7 days a week comping and i just win the odd dvd now and then

I often wonder the same, espcially when people say its their 2nd/3rd/4th win of the week. I've only won 2 things since August.
I guess its a numbers game (the more you enter the greater your chances) and luck of the draw.
I just wonder who stole all my luck :rotfl::rotfl:Wine is made to be drunk, I am drunk, therefore am I wine?0 -
You are not alone. I enter a lot and would be surprised if my wins have ever been worth more than say £2000 in total for the year. I do win lots of small prizes, such as a lip balm, or a book though, so am not complaining.0

I've had a little luck in the three years I have comped for.
First year I won a Silent nigh bed
Second year a expensive camera
Third year I waited until Dec to win £250
Then so far this year I have won a iPhone 5 & a Samsung fridge freezer!.
I have done nothing different to when I first started comping it is just the luck of the drawThis Post Has Been Sponsored ByChocolate0 -
I've been comping for about 6 years now. When I first started I was winning 5 or 6 comps per week. In the first 3 years of doing comps I won 6 holidays, about £1000 in cash, cameras, games consoles, dvds, cds, books etc. But in the last couple of years or so it's gone right down to a win about every 3 months. I won a pair of snow boots a couple of weeks ago which have come in handy this week as I have a mile walk to work and back every day.0

I think there are more people than ever entering competitions now. Therefore it does reduce your chances of winning.0

Also remember some people enter EVERY/most comps on here equalling lots of prizes. I only enter the ones I would like. Therefore when I win the prize is very much needed or wanted.
The majority of people want the ipads, holidays etc so loads will enter these
Just don't let it take over your life, and have fun doing it without counting the wins yet. Your hard effort will pay off, Good luckStarted 2011
Lost count but from 2019- £750
2020- perfume, GIN, bag - approx 300£
2021- 150 voucher,
2022- book
2023- £1000 -
I hold the view that if you give you will receive..
sorry if that sounds preachy.:o
Also the law of odds dictates that if you enter enough comps you will win something eventually, it might not be the thing you're after mind..sadly.0 -
Just take a look at the number of reads for threads here, 1000+ for anything half decent, double that number to account for prizefinder etc.... that's roughly the number of compers entering before you take into account the general public. Odds of winning are 1500 to one or worse.
If you're spending 9 hours a day comping you should be entering at least 500-700 a day so I would expect you'd be getting a few wins a week.“D’you know what a loser is?
A real loser is someone who’s so afraid of not winning, they don’t even try.”

i agree about the small wins - my biggest so far this year has been worth £48.00 (perfume) & most of the other about the £10 mark - although I've also won some toothpaste - I enter all the mag dailies I can plus about 200 others a dayproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

Competitions are like anything else, if you expect it to happen you will be disappointed if it doesnt. fair enough im 4 days in to my comping time but everything i have entered has been with no expectations, for me im wasting my time in a way that could benefit the family .. better that than sitting watching TV for me.Goal --> 2016 Competition Wins 1/120
