Tips on encouraging a dog to eat?

I tried cooking some chicken portions in stock cube and taking the meat off and also black pudding which did entice my dog when he was poorly. I pray it will be ok for you both xxxx0

The only thing my girl would eat at the end was roast chicken. In the end she refused that and so I decided enough was enough. The vet also gave her a vitamin B injection which didn't seem to make a difference to her but might be worth a try if you haven't already.0

Would it be OK to pm you in a few days zaksmum to ask some questions?
Trying to keep positive at the moment but would also like to know more about the other side if things so I can make the right decisions when the time comes.
He did eat half a chicken breast earlier, and I think he may have eaten a dentistick as I can't find it!
PM me anytime Katy. Believe me when I say I know what you are going through.0 -
Ohhhhh Katy (((hugs))) for you & poor Tyson ... poor lamb xx
What a huge shock it must've been
Loads of fab suggestions from everyone which I'd give a try BUT if they don't work, give Complan a try (it's used for humans to build them up if they've been ill & can't have a solid diet) - very gentle on the tum & I know people who've used it to try to start their dogs eating again

He seems quite sore today and breaks my heart with his crying.
He definitely seems more alert though.
I managed to get him to take his morning tablets and he has had some meat off a chicken leg, but then refused more chicken as he saw me touch it. I am in the bad books for leaving him at the vets!0 -
Well it's a good sign that he's taking some food even if it is only a tiny amount, hopefully his painkillers will have more of an effect soon and he can build up his energy with more food0
