Confusingly the rules are different (and a lot more complicated) for contributory ESA than for contributory JSA. See DWP decision makers guide.0

still confused.
so i cannot get contribution based jsa.
if thats the case thank you, but what do you mean the difference in jsa and esa0 -

I think the poster was pointing out that the rules for claiming JSA are different from the rules for claiming ESA.
But since ESA is a totally different benefit from JSA, this is completely irrelevant to your question.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
thats the thing i maybe able to claim esa, as ive just come off disibilty living allowance on my own.0

Those that have stated you are not entitled to CB JSA are correct - you must have actually paid Class 1 contributions in at least one of the two test years. The relevant statute is the Jobseekers Act 1995 if you wish to read the full detail.
For CB ESA, you need to have paid either Class 1 or Class 2 conts in respect of one of the last two test years. Class 2 conts are paid by the self employed, so I guess you have not paid these either?0 -
i havent as im a stay at home dad who claims the CB for our daughter.0

Op i thought i remembered you from one of your previous posts and an issue you said you were having with your manager. October 12 you posted and asked for help with these issues and stated that you have been working for the company for 5 years. Now you state you havent' worked since 2010.
There are some lovely people on this thread and others you have posted who spend their time trying to help and advise you, and you seem to be taking all these people for a ride.0 -

Indeed as well as paying private school fees in April too despite being on a low income and unemployed. Maybe they'd have more money if they stopped paying these as they are extortionate.0
