Just over a year ago I bought mine from http://www.woodworktops.com. Was all set to go with howdens but they were much cheaper here.
Went for a wider stave 80mm with the rustic form - full length. After 18 months over the moon with them. Give them an odd oiling just for pleasure from time to time
Ordered 3 different lengths that arrived on time as ordered but got the builder to do the holes and edge shaping.
Can't beat quality wood. I'd avoid cost cutting, within limits, as the impact is stunning :beer:I believe past performance is a good guide to future performance :beer:0 -
I agree you dont want 27mm for the kitchen but you can get 40mm for £200 which look very nice after sanding and oiling.
Also you want a minimum of 40mm staves0 -

Personally I wouldn't touch less than 38mm worktops with a barge pole.
You'll be better to shop around.
Magnet trade don't do a 27mm solid oak worktop.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
I hope you are careful with the water spills, regardless of the amount of oiling.
Seriously if you can accept a well used finish after just a couple of years then go ahead.
Still, better than chipboard but much less practical than granite,
Just trying to widen your sights;);)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
