Being male and bachelor. Aesthetics are way out of my league. Looking for a book on what sofa to buy and how to put it in the house and the like....
let me know of any book which has everything on interior decoration. Even a website or a web link will be great

Hi,
The best thing I found was buying a copy of "Real Homes" or "House and Garden" - but watch out, they are very feminine!
Alternatively, I bought a book called "The Complete Decorating and Home Improvement Source Book" by Mike Lawrence with Stewart and Sally Walton in WH Smiths for 4.99. It is great. It covers basic stuff like what paint colours go together, lighting, how to fix stuff, the differences between different curtains etc and how to put it together.
And it's not too girly.

So what is the problem?
If you do the place up all chintzy, your next g/f will be forever asking questions about the ex. who designed the place.
If you keep it black and minimal, she'll have the satisfaction of changing it and telling her friends how she has 'tamed' you.
