My agreement says I will do 30 hours job searching a week and I am

Not on Universal Credit and has been no mention of it at my JC

This 30 hours agreement thing, did you agree this or did the Jobcentre? if you then good luck.

How an earth you can look for Jobs for 35 hours a week is beyond me, luckly Jobcentre hasn't mentioned this to me yet and hopefully their won't. don't get me wrong I apply for Jobs everyday, Only so many Jobs I can apply. Can't apply for jobs if it states need Driving Licence can I when I can't drive.

A good application takes a good few hours to prepare, re doing your CV to highlight the best set of skills you have and also the cover letter too. Searching for work is a full time job in itself and can be done 24/7 if needed with internet access.
  • 35 hours per week is mentioned amongst this release concerning the Claimant Commitment that new JSA claimants must sign from the middle of last month. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/jobseekers-to-start-signing-new-claimant-commitment-today

But what if people don't have access to internet?

You don't need internet to apply for work but it does help, I have printed off loads of CV's walked around local industrial estates, business's handing them into reception. I know from the outset some if not all were binned but that is what I have done.

Surely the advisor will adjust the 35 hours to take into account no internet access, are you not asked when you first sign on if you have internet access. Can't remember if I was asked when I first signed on about internet access.
  • All i know about the universal credit, is i'm being changed over to it on the 1st of December i was told the other day when i saw my advisor.

She told me they're still not 100% on what the rules are, but told me that instead of universal job match you will have to go back to the paper booklet to show proof of job search but you will also have to write the time you applied for the job.

She also showed me a 20 page long booklet we would have to take in to the job center, instead of the normal stuff we take in now to sign on.

On this booklet it has around 30-35 specific boxes, where you have to agree to do them things each week, and once you've done them you tick the box and show your job search alongside.

Don't know much more though, she did say it;s going to be tougher, though.
    Save, save, save, save.

Be great if you could keep us informed. I still do not know when I will go over to UC, sometime before 2017 is all I know. But it could be later.
