    So, this FA who advised me to transfer this money then abandoned me was doing the job he was meant to was he? Well it's the Halifax to blame I think, what a way to treat customers.
    Check the paperwork to see what it says about the level of risk you wanted. None of the investments mentioned is consistent with not being willing to take risk. That means that you should succeed on a mis-selling claim if you make one, provided your risk tolerance was correctly described.

    All of the investments are reasonable enough for people who are willing to take moderate levels of risk and it's likely that you will end up ahead eventually.
