What a fab saving Queenie! Plus the electricity savings and the fact you shouldn't need to replace them as often as normal ones!

My PMS challenge is still going well. Mr T had given me one of those vouchers that if you spend £10 on kids clothes you'll get 250 points. I only ever use them if I genuinely need to get the small person more stuff but I got a school sweatshirt for the autumn which I needed and he needed topping up on pants and socks. Got the socks reduced and spent exactly £10 but when the pants went through they were also half price so went back and got more. Have also sent off my old unmobile phone [size of a house brick] because the battery had finally died so although have had to buy a new phone will get 500 points from Mr T and will also be getting extra points for recycling all my Employer's empty cartridges through Mr T. Finally today have been given an unexpected £200 bonus for a project which has had resulted in a fair amount of extra funding coming in for my Employer but for which I hadn't been expecting any financial reward. The PMS pot is growing nicely [all virtual though as all savings go into the ICICI account] Makes that little £3.50 impulse dolls house purchase made on Saturday seem justified now!!

Had £80 extra in my PMS pot but won't be on my total, just used it to save myself £21 by paying for a years car tax instead of 6 months :D So that means I can put £21 extra back in :) First time I've ever been able to afford a years tax :D instead of the usual 6 months (which they charge fees on) :o then I also won't have it to pay for near xmas which will be added to PMS pot in that month, confuzzling myself now :rotfl: I know what I mean.

Managed to get some good reductions today on things I would have bought anyway. So good I spent about £20 and saved over £30 :) ca ching!!! I also got a suitcase with £10 off which I was going to buy, what it costs I will save in petrol going to collect the one we borrow and more, so there is another £5 in the PMS pot.

Off to add up my total ;) where's my calculator :o my brains switched off with all these numbers.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

Just a reminder for those who don't already know ... one of our previous PMS'ers designed an Excel spreadsheet for keeping track of budgets/savings/etc. (You'll need to read all of EagerLearner's posts in the thread to find out what it fully entails)

If you have Excel and are interested ... you can find the post about it in this thread:- http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=238575&page=3#post5242335

    Hi all....

Update to mine... I'm doing the thermos flask into work (thanks Queenie) and yesterday I saved £1.30 on tea (that includes taking off the cost of the milk).

I'll update the tea savings every Friday.

Oh and it's soooo much nicer as the tea is made the way I like it and it stays hot for aaaaages in the flask!

We take a flask with us now when we go shopping outside our own little town, because quite often we would stop off at a cafe and have a coffee and sometimes cake. Now I take it with me and we stop somewhere pretty and have that instead. A lot cheaper, and nicer :-)

True newster... I've noticed how much I've prefered my own tea yesterday and today. Plus as you say about buying cake - I'll often pick up something to munch on just because I get tempted, and then regret spending the money and eating the calories afterwards!

Mind you.... I have now lost one of my excuses to have a mini break away from my desk :( (I don't smoke either)

Buuuuut... all in the name of saving money eh? :T

    :(

Hmm....... I've just found the milk I bought yesterday has gone bad... and I used it only this morning and it was fine.. use by date of the 28th too...

All I can guess is that someone left the communial fridge door open earlier??

Looks like that's a stop to today's savings and I'll try out the dried stuff at home tonight and bring some in if it works out okay
