certified toolbar virus help please

I have got this from a download i have done
How do i get rid of it?
I am running norton and currently doing a malwarebites scan.
Would it be easier to just wipe the pc and do a complete reinstall and would this get rid of the virus?
I will also do a hijack log.

Firstly, toolbars aren't viruses, so stay clam & don't panic.

If they don't work, tell us which browser you're having problems with.

Hi i goolge it and got this but it does not work and it states it is a virus.
I have delted it from the programmes but it stays as the web page .

Don't believe all you read on the internet - especially the hysteria on affiliate sites that are looking to scare the living daylights out of you so you download their software or subscribe to their service.

Then it's a browser setting you have to change. Tell us what browser you use (IE, Firefox Chrome etc).

I use Internet explorer
I have deleted it from the progs and gone through C:\ prog files and cant find it but when i did the Click on Tools - manage add ons it is still there along with appi.widdit.com never heard of them and only i use the pc.

Dont know yet running another scan
I will post later with a hijack log
But like you said "stay clam & don't panic" so i am going to take the dog out as i worry over anything and nothing.

It's something that alters your browser settings to use a different homepage and search engine etc - nothing more.
