I recently had a claim online with money claim on line the bank posted a defence. This has now been referred to the small claims court in the town where I live. Is it necessary for me to make an appearance in court? I have recently moved to Abu Dhabi and it wouldn't be worth the bus fair to continue the claim if I have to be there. Can I appoint a representative or can I just let the claim be heard without representation? I would send my wife but she is due out here soon and we don't think the case will be heard until after she departs.
I do not want to let the bank win by default!
