Date on Sony Handycam?

Hi, Would any of you know how to make sure the date is transferred to DVD when recording from a Sony HAndycam DCR-PC55E/S please? I have read the booklet etc but the date never shows on the screen when recording.

I don't own this model, but it seems from the menu (downloaded from
http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/2548726121.pdf )
that P26 states that time/date is captured automatically, but not displayed on screen during recording / playback. P49 tells how to access that data, and P56 tells how to ensure it displays when transferring to an external recorder (such as a DVD writer). Any help?

Thanks Jzpop. You've gone to a bit of effort. I know in my booklet it said it captured automatically. However it wasn't clear how I made sure it transferred over. I'll check this out and see if it is any clearer!
