Parrot remote unit

I've had the Parrot installed in my car. I keep nudging the steering wheel remote control.
It would be much better on one of the central sticks (not the one with the stereo controls) rather than the circle part of the steering wheel.
But the elastic band that fits it to the steering wheel isn't long enough to go around the chunky stalk.
Can you buy longer versions of these bands?
I have no idea what to google as I don't know what they are called?
Also, its not ilegal to fit on the stalk is it?

Just try longer elastic bands, however you might find it weighs on the stalk0

They aren't normal elastic bands, they are stretchy black straps with slits in it to fit into a gripper on the unit.
I need a longer version of that, but I don't know what to call it, to google it.0 -

I have a Parrot MKi9200 with the remote control, I fitted it myself very neatly, but didnt want the remote on the steering wheel. I mounted it directly behind the gear lever on the centre console. It's very easy to use in this location & I dont need to look when using it with my left hand.0
