Today I am having a NSD. It's only 6pm but so far so good!:DIf you know you have enough, you're rich.0

I don't know if it's particularly DFW, but it started as being MSE
:
I needed to do some printing, and my printer was broken, but I had another printer (rescued from my office) in the garage, which only, or so I thought, needed new ink cartridges - no probs. Off I went to WHS who have a promotion on ink cartridges - buy one, get second half price - and purchased two ink cartridges - total cost £46.00, which I paid for using £36.00, plus £10 worth of old WHS gift tokens that had been in the drawer for years.
All VERY commendable (both MSE and DFW) until I got home.
I set up the spare printer, only to find that it was missing the power lead and transformer.
After a long, unfruitful, search I set off for CURRY'S under the, as it turned out misguided, impression that I could purchase the missing item for a couple of quid.
Surprise, surprise - it seems that those 'nice' people at Hewlett Packard have never heard of standardisation - every printer, it transpires, uses different voltages and jack plugs.
Stuck, and on a Sunday, I allowed the 'salesperson' to sweet talk me into purchasing a new printer (meaning that I now have three printers:mad: ). Left with no alternative, I wrestled £40.00 from my wallet and took the printer home. Having purchased a new HP printer, I was reasonably certain that the ink cartridges, purchased earlier, would be compatable with the new printer. Wrong.
Fortunately WHS were still open, and refunded my £46.00, without question.:j :j
So at the end of the day I have purchased a new printer, complete with cartridges, for £6.00 less than I had originally spent on the cartridges.
Confused? So am I - I still haven't done my printing though.:beer:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
