when coming back from China one of the older ladies in our tour had a terrible accident whcih left her with no pants or trousers, I gave her my trousers to wear whilst I wrapped the blanket they give you on the plane around me as a sarong, I had no problems walking around the plane like that, since that incident I have always taken a sarong in my hand luggage and it has been used on many occassions - so if you can, I highly recommend you take one with you, they wrap up small

One other word of advice, don't expect much in the US airports, if you are planning to buy stuff on your return, don't bother, get it all at your resorts etc

Another daft question.........> can you definately pay the tolls with dollar bills and you don't need coins/change? We have loads of one dollar bills but no coins so that was bothering us a bit especially since we arrive so late and we didn't want to faff about looking for change.

    :D

Can't speak for Florida but from my experiences in the US, toll booths tend to have 3 catergories:

    1) EZ Tag - for residents with a prepaid card that gets debited as they drive through
    2) Exact Change - Unmanned cash "baskets" - COINS only
    3) Full Service - Manned booths which give changes, receipts, etc.

Just get in the correct lane on the approach to the toll station and you'll be fine.

    Enjoy your holiday!

For somewhere to go while you are waiting why not jump in a taxi (appox £15) to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. If you want you could take your own car if they let you park it back at the hotel, don't see why not to be honest. Plenty of parking at the museum, chargeable but not expensive. The Museum of Transport is across the road. Both have places to eat and if it is sunny you can just chill out in the park adjacent.
Braehead is fine - if you want to go to a shopping centre and Xscape has bowling, mini-golf, snowboarding and the footie things as mentioned before. None of these is cheap though. £7 for the mini golf for an adult, the ones in Orlando are worth waiting for.
We all evolve - get on with it

Have you already paid for the hotel in full or deposit.

As your flight is now late afternoon, wouldn't it make sense to just leave home & go straight to the airport.
I may be wrong but if the airline changed the times, I think they have to compensate you for any arrangements made. SWhould they refund any money paid you could just travel without needing the hotel.
If its onlt a deposit, surely its worth loosing.

You can also pay with your credit card.

Hi last time I was in the USA they didn't have 1 dollar coins only notes and all the machines in the US take those notes. They don't expect the visitors to be carrying quarters and dimes around with them. Be extra vigilant in the US tho because all the notes are the same size and colour and it is so easy to give someone a 20 dollar bill and then get change for a 5 and you might not remember how much you gave someone. Also late at night you might mistake a 20 for 5 and not realise it. (The waiter with the very generous tip will know tho lol!!!!!!!!!) Taffy
  • Just ask your airport hotel for a late check-out - they're usually pretty good about things like that. Failing that, they'll be happy to look after your bags for a few hours and you can sit in the bar / use the leisure facilities if they exist /go into Glasgow.

As for the flight socks - I wouldn't bother. If you're really worried about DVT etc, stroll around the aircraft inflight, and if you really really want you could take a junior aspirin (75mg) 24 hours before the flight. Usual precautions for aspirin apply: not for the under-12s, and not for those with bleeding disorders, stomach acid problems (reflux/ulcers), active bleeding or allergy.

If in doubt, see your GP before flying.

Can't cancel hotel, more than one room booked and also a park and fly package (or stay and park or whatever the thing is called  ). All at good rate because all were paid upfront, not just deposit.

Will ask about late check out.

Seat Guru has no information about FlyGlobespan. In fact I can't find information about their seat plans anywhere.

Would it be very boring if I said thank you to you all again? :D
