Bought myself a Netgear wireless adapter to get the hoose networked. Loaded SW on Laptop & Lads machines. Each of the machines had individual accounts set up on them
Cannot access any other user account other than the one used to load the SW.
Windows Password screen appears on load up or log off and asks for a password, never set a password so v confused. This happens on both computors so its likely its to do with the Adapter install.
How do I remove/change account passwords from a stsyems admin point of view?

this may help

Blank Password Network AccessWindows XP professional will not allow network users computer access without a password. Trying to do so will normally return and error code.
To allow network access using a blank password:
[Start] [Run] and type gpedit.msc and click [OK]
Navigate to Computer Configuration / Windows Settings / Security Settings / Local Policies / Security Options
Double click on Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console login only.
Select the radio button next to Disabled and click [OK]Ex forum ambassador

It may well be the Netgear software that is screwing with your logins.
When you ask your PC to close down do you get the regular three buttons, or a drop down menu?
If its the latter then its the netgear software.
I got round the problem by uninstalling the Netgear SW and letting windows configure the wireless adapter.
Its something to do with the Netgear using RTLGina2.dll as its login rather than msgina.dll that XP normally uses, and this disables fast user switching.
Edit. My laptop has the Netgear S/W on it so i've just tried this fix, and it restores the original log in.

Hope this helps as its quicker than my first solution.
Assuming of course that that was the cause of the problem in the first place. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Cheers Pen that did the trick - Think I'll give Netgear a blast tomorrow just to see if I can blag something off them for the inconvenience.
