Goals for the week - 29 April 2007

Options
I haven't seen this thread for a LOOONNGG time but always liked it as a reminder and motivator. Here's the most recent one I could find http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=319743&highlight=goals+for+the+week and there's probably something more recent but it's too early on a Sunday morning to search properly!  ;)

So, the deal is, post your goals for the week below. Next week, when a new thread is started you can report on your progress and then set some new goals. It's been so long since the old thread through I thought it would be better to start from scratch this week.

Here are my goals for the week:

1) Take packed lunch to work every day
2) Sort out my expenses
3) Three no spend days
4) Help OH look for a new mobile phone deal
5) Gym twice.

So, not many but it's a big week for me at work. Don't want to start the thread and fail do I!! ;):D

Good luck everyone!

Well done for starting this thread again Malanole. I need to organise myself and I am feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment. So babysteps are needed I think.

    1. do all the ironing (this in itself will make my life easier, as there is nothing left in anyone's wardrobe, and finding clothes in the morning is hard work!)

    2. Clean out kitchen cupboards, sort out what food I have/not got and make a meal plan and shop effectively. Again this should make my life a litte easier this week.

    3. Go to the gym twice - if I have not been twice by the end of this week, I will cancel my membership. I have hardly been since being pregnant with the little one and that is nearly two years. Not very moneysaving! Plus I am doing race for life and have done NO training.

    4. Keep a spending diary and stick to my budget.

    5. Watch less TV - aids procrastination!!!! something I am good at.

PS Molanole - have you tried e2save on quidco for a mobile (not sure if they are still on quidco) - I got my daughter a good deal through quidco with cashback and a free additional phone which I sold on ebay.

  • Thanks for this Malanole - I need some inspiration this week. I've a busy part week at the paid job, but am equally busy week at home!

    1. Finish removing dead plants from borders and plant the new ones.
    2. Keep caught up with laundry.
    3. Sort final holiday outstanding stuff, extra flight tax, info for US authorities, check travel insurance, order money.
    4. Get my NCT "work" - caught up.
    5. Write letter of complaint re new pc and its problems.
    6. Chase up unpaid bank charges judgement.
    7. Start final bank charges reclaim via MCOL.
    8. Purchase new mobile for my dad via Quidco and sort out his account (he can use a mobile but that's about it!).
    9. Get small son to make a couple of birthday cards, and tidy his toy corner.

Phew - I think that will do,

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

    3) Put some stuff on E-Bay
    4) Keep within my £10 budget for unnecessary spends

    - send off my insurance claim
    - write letters for credit card charge reclaims

  • Thanks Molanole - This is a great idea for a thread to keep us all focussed.

    This week I will:

    1) Go to the gym at least 4 times (Got 2 days off work so need to make an extra effort)
    2) Go to the bank and pay in £2 coin savings
    3) List at least 4 items on Ebay
    4) Stick to my weekly budget
    5) Check my internet banking every day to keep on track
    6) Clean and tidy my house
    7) Stick to my diet

Good luck with your goals everyone - I will update on progress each day to keep myself on track x

Glad to see this thread and yourself back Molanole :)

    1. Finish coursework ASAP
    2. Sort out a proper revision plan
    3. Make as much of the £150 needed for new fridge as possible

    That'll do for this week
