ebay refund query?

I'm sure this has been asked thousands of times and I've had a search around the ebay forum,but can't find it.
I bought a make-up compact from ebay on Saturday and it arrived on Tuesday empty. Messaged the seller and they were shocked!! I confirmed no make-up received and they have now offered to refund me.

What do I do now to protect myself and get a prompt refund as some of the negative feedback suggests that it will take ages to get the refund.I have paid by paypal with a credit card.

I have offered to send the empty compact back. Was that the wrong thing to do?

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If they dont refund then open a not as described dispute. ebay or paypal will tell you to send it back tracked.
You need tracking to show its been sent./received.

Then you will get a refund. Had to open my 1st dispute recently.
