Not sure if this is in the right section but it seemed "techie" to me...
After being burgled in my garage on last wednesday (commercial business premises) and having 2 vehicles and over 20 k worth of tools taken I have realised that my standard alarm and security needs upgrading. I now have a ram barrier and other physical deterrants/hinderances but would like to install a decent alarm that rings/texts when activated, coupled up with camera that can see in the dark so i can then log on the internet and see if the alarm call warrants response.
Does such a system exist, if so how much am I looking at. If it helps the garage is 1500 square feet.
Thanks for any help

speak to someone like ADT

a camera with pir activated lighting would be better, along with a router/internet connection for remote viewing.!!

Thanks but dont have ADT money, looking more for one that can be self installed, or use my electrician, that still fits the bill....0

you could check for a local alarm/security company, even if they come out give you a survey of what you would need and then if their price is right get them or just use the survey to get the items yourself and have your sparky to install.0

I'd suggest somewhere like Network Webcams. Cameras can have inbuilt motion detection and can email you when activated.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

You can buy CCTV kits with Dvr and camera's for reasonable prices these days, lot will depend on how many cameras you are looking to have.
Does the business have broadband, as most dvr units will have net connection and be able to notify you of any incident by email with a link to connect live to camera.
The more you pay for a system, generally the better the quality of the camera's.
All will depend on your budgetMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
Yes we have broadband connection.0

A 4 channel, 4 camera 500gb or 1 TB CCTV kit would be ok then, unless you needs more camera's, then an 8 channel system.
Try find a local supplier and see what they recommend. Main thing you should look out for is Tv lines for the camera's, the higher the better. Plus the night vision, the distance it covers at night.
You looking for internal or external camera'sMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

ADT do free installs and you effectively rent the gear off them as well as pay for a monitoring service.
If you just install a CCTV system with a DVR you'll just find that gets nicked as well next time.0
