The cartridges are expensive but you can buy the ink to re-fill the cartridges cheaper (the people in the tech forum know all abut this, best to ask them).

I've used refills before they half filled it couldn't take it back realised after months of having it when I started using it in my printer.I only buy new now.I take the empty cartridges to sainsburys for recycling money goes to charity.I know refilling is cheaper but I like new.

After a power cut there's a surge I think not sure I'm no expert I have a surge plug adaptor it's just along thing that puts all the plugs in think that helps after a power cut.
